Len Tremblay

Léonard (Len) Tremblay, of Quebec, was born on October 29, 1920, and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in September 1941 as a Pilot. In May 1943, while in Wrexham, North Wales, he was injured when his plane crashed during night-flying training. This injury resulted in the loss of his leg, and he was later discharged from service in November 1944.

Mr. Tremblay joined The War Amps Quebec Branch and served as:

  • Director, Quebec Branch
  • Delegate, War Amps National Convention
  • Committee Member, War Amps publication The Fragment

He was known for having served as the Quebec Branch’s Director for more than 25 years and for performing valuable services at both the branch level and the national level.

A strong supporter of the Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program, he shared his positive outlook and knowledge with child amputees and their families at many CHAMP seminars over the years. He was awarded the Honorary CHAMP Membership from The War Amps for his service.

Mr. Tremblay passed away on January 6, 2001.
