John Langton
John Langton was born on May 9, 1923, in Wales and raised in Northern Ireland. He enlisted with the British Army when he was 18 and volunteered with the Royal East Kent Regiment soon after, which led to him being commissioned into the Indian Army Ordnance Corps in 1943. While overseeing the disposal of ordnance in Borneo in 1946, an explosive device detonated, resulting in the loss of his left arm.
Later, Mr. Langton moved to Canada and joined The War Amps in 1952. He was a member of the New Brunswick Branch and, later, the Kingston Branch, serving as:

He was the recipient of The War Amps Distinguished Service Membership and Honorary CHAMP Membership, as well as being awarded the high honour of both the Queen Elizabeth II Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals.
Mr. Langton passed away on May 2, 2013.
