Everett Reid

Everett Reid was born on October 2, 1916, and joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment in June 1942. He was injured in July 1944 in France when a night attack by a lone aircraft hit the trench he was in with an exploding shell, resulting in the loss of his right leg above the knee.

Mr. Reid joined The War Amps Southwestern Ontario Branch in 1945 and held the positions of:

  • National Director, Southwestern Ontario Branch (1963, 1965, 2008-2014)
  • President and Vice-President, Southwestern Ontario Branch
Everett Reid

He worked at the Key Tag Service in Toronto until his retirement in 1981. For his hard work and support of the Association, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Membership.

Mr. Reid passed away on January 19, 2014.
