Dave Ingram

David (Dave) Ingram, of Edmonton, was born on February 26, 1920. He enlisted with the Canadian Army in March 1941, serving with the Edmonton Fusiliers and the Royal Regina Rifles. He was posted to England in March 1943 and later landed in Normandy, France, on D-Day. In June 1944, he was injured by a landmine while on sniper patrol in France and lost his left leg above the knee, as well as part of his right heel.

After the war, Mr. Ingram joined The War Amps and became a hard-working member of the Edmonton Branch, serving as:

• President, Edmonton Branch (1972‑1974)
• National Director, Edmonton Branch (1976‑1993)
• Member, War Amps National Council

For his hard work and dedication to the Association, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Membership, Meritorious Service Membership and Honorary CHAMP Membership from The War Amps.

Mr. Ingram passed away on March 19, 2004.
